1956 LINCOLN PREMIERE CONVERTIBLE

1956 LINCOLN PREMIERE CONVERTIBLE

1956 Lincoln Premiere Convertible Chassis No. 56LA8457L Specifications: 258bhp, 368 cu. in. V8 engine with four-barrel carburetor, Turbo-Drive automatic transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs, live axle rear suspension with leaf springs, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. The most attractive and desirable of the Premiere line has always been the Convertible Coupe. Just 2,447 examples were built, of which only a few still exist. This 1956 Lincoln Premier Convertible was the 195th car built and has been restored in its original exterior and interior colors. Options on this vehicle include power windows, power antenna, Town & Country radio, power seats and a unique angled dealer option continental kit. The history of the Premiere dates back to 1967 when Mr. Henry Ricci of Seattle, Washington purchased the automobile from the original owner. The Lincoln would remain in Mr. Ricci's personal collection until his death in 2001. The automobile was subsequently sold by the Ricci Estate to Mr. Tom Koens, who purchased the vehicle for a customer of his, Mr. Larry Kamuso, a collector of Fords and Oldsmobiles in Los Angeles. A year later, the car was sold to a Mr. Steve Price of Springfield, Virginia. Mr. Price commissioned a complete frame-off restoration for the Premiere, which included a total engine and drivetrain rebuild. He held onto the car for two years, driving it sparingly. In 2004, he sold the car in Hershey, Pennsylvania at the AACA auction to Mr. Bob Pittman, who invested in some additional electrical work, as well as refurbishing the dash and convertible top mechanism before selling it to the current owner. The Premiere was shown at an LCOC event in Scottsdale, AZ in 2006, where it scored 98/100. One point was lost because the windshield wiper washers did not work (a problem which has since been rectified) and the other point was deducted because the continental kit was not a manufacturer available option but rather a dealer option. Today the Premiere Convertible drives wonderfully, every system not only looks new, but works as it did the day it came off the assembly line. The car also comes with a detailed history since 1967, which includes the contact information of previous owners. So before you bid on this car, make sure you have plenty of room on your mantle, because if you ever choose to bring this trophy magnet to an LCOC or any other club event, plan on bringing home some hardware.

There was air conditioning in the car, I have no idea if it is hooked up or even works. This was the first year for air in these cars. Also it rivaled Cadillac for most luxurious in 1956, and won. It had the most new unique options. The motor is a 368 V8, the transmission is a Hydromatic 3 speed automatic. And yes the brakes are drum. As for other things that need to be done: it also needs a headliner, paint repair on the dash, and the leather on the dash needs to be re-glued down. As well as other misc. things that any car collector would expect to need to be addressed.

1948 Lincoln Convertible

Year 1948 Lincoln Convertible

Exterior Color: GREEN
Interior color: GREEN
Cylinders: 12
Transmission: MANUAL

The most important thing about this V12 powered Lincoln convertible is that it is not a Continental. It is much more rare and distinctive. This convertible is resplendent in Valley Green with green leather interior, matching green carpets and a tan cloth top and top boot. Its 305cid Flathead V12 engine drive through an overdrive 3-speed transmission giving it performance that will comfortably keep up with today's freeway traffic. As expected for Ford's top-of-the-line marque, it is comprehensively equipped including pushbutton radio, heater, clock, rear fender skirts with delicious chrome embellishments, hubcaps, trim rings and power windows. The restoration evidences very high quality workmanship and materials throughout, especially in the exceptionally crisp and sharp grille and trim chrome work - an area of these cars which is frighteningly expensive to restore and therefore frequently given short shrift in restorations - and the precise fit and function of the pushbutton-operated doors. The chassis, drivetrain and engine are like new. The 1948 Lincolns were succeeded very early in 1948 by the completely re-designed 1949 Lincolns and Cosmopolitans. Only 6,470 1948 Lincolns were built in all body styles. Of them, the convertible is far and away the most rare and sought by collectors and this is an exceptionally fine and sympathetically restored example that needs absolutely no excuses.

1948 Lincoln Continental Coupe

1947 Lincoln Continental Coupe

Exterior Color: BLACK
Interior color: RED
Cylinders V12
Transmission MANUAL

The Lincoln Continental was designed by Bob Gregorie as a one-off for Edsel Ford to use on vacation in Florida. It was received with such enthusiasm by Ford's friends on the Social Register that it was rushed into production and became one of Ford's longest-running successes. This Ermine Black 1947 coupe was lovingly restored with a striking leather interior in Dubonnet Red that emphasizes the style and elegance of the original Continental's design. Power comes from Lincoln's Flathead V12 engine whose 305 cubic inches deliver 150 brake horsepower. The Continental's elegance and refined design has built a loyal following and earned the recognition of the Classic Car Club of America as one of the very few post-World War II automobiles recognized as a "Full Classic". The style, colors, materials and presentation of this example burnishes the Continental's reputation for quality and style.
