Ford Motor Company acquired the Lincoln Motor Company in 1922. Ford
wanted to add a luxurious and prestige Lincoln car to their production.
Edsel Ford took the luxury car line under wing, hiring a number of
coachbuilders to contribute styling ideas, most notably Ray Dietrich, a
founder of LeBaron, who created a special body division of Murphy Body
to make Lincolns. By 1929, the Lincoln Town Car was built, and Lincoln
