1957 Lincoln Premiere
1957 brought
"Quadra-Lites" and tailfins to Lincoln. Also it brought the "pillarless"
look to the four-door lineup. Except for nameplate and identidying
script on the front fender, The Premiere was undistinguishable from the
lower-priced Capri.
1957 Lincoln Premier Hardtop Coupe
$9,900
368 cid overhead valve V8 engine rated at 300 horsepower, Turbo-Drive three-speed automatic transmission, four-wheel power-assisted hydraulic drum brakes; wheelbase: 126.0"
When it comes to luxury, late 1950s style, the Lincoln was one of America's top brands. In 1957, few others could match the feel, the power and the drive of the Premiere series. Among the list of standard equipment found on these cars were power steering, brakes and windows, plus 4-way power seat, courtesy lights, clock, dual exhausts and even two-tone paint. With a base price of $5,149, a reported 15,185 orders were received for the popular two-door hardtop. Finished in its original colors of Starmist White over Saturn Gold, the styling of this Premier is out of this world. There were really very few options to buy, but the original owner of this example opted for the $475 air-conditioning and $175 radio that included a power antenna and rear-seat speaker. This is basically an original non-molested car showing right at 91,500 miles. An outstanding example of futuristic styling in a production car, the addition of this Premiere should be a must to a fan of the 1950s, or one who appreciates what a luxury car should be.
